​​​​​​​Replica of the T.I.E. Fighter as constructed by ILM in 1975 and 1976. Expertly patterned and cast by eagle-eyed fans, this replica was built on a machined aluminum armature. This model also features vintage “Koolshade” material in the wings, as did the originals. Koolshade material was made as an energy efficient screen to decrease sunlight entering windows in homes and high rises, made in bronze strips woven into angled louvers. It is extremely hard to find at 21 louvers an inch, as the company now manufactures a looser wave. Note how the color shifts depending on the light source’s strength and angle.
